I have a small-scale kennel of Hovawarts in Merikarvia, Finland (about 50 km from Pori towards Vaasa). Since 1997, our kennel has been the birthplace of 13 litters of puppies by 10 different bitches. On average, we've had one litter per year. In 2008, also a litter of German pointers was registered on our kennel name. Despite this one litter, I have no intention to start breeding pointers, this litter happens to be the creation of Timo Lindgren :-)
My main goal in my work as a breeder is not only to breed healthy dogs that conform to the breeding standard, but also to keep in touch with the owners of puppies on a long term basis. This is my way of making sure that the owner of a new puppy isn't left alone with possible problems, and acquiring important information on the development of my puppies. Each baby dog is one of my little darlings, even when they're all grown up: after all, I am their "mommy", in a sense.
One of the most important factors in making a sound, successful dog is choosing the right owners for him. This is why I pay so much attention to finding the right home, or the perfect match, for each puppy. One of the tools I use in this is puppy testing. My wish comes true every time I see a happy dog owner talking about their dog with love and pride in their eyes. They are the things we need to make it through those days when living with a Hovawart (or any other dog) is not exactly a bed of roses.
On this website I'd like to communicate information about the breed to those who are interested, and to shed some light on the whys, whats and whens of my kennel. You will also find information on the combinations of bitches and dogs I've used in my work. Each of our puppies has its own website with photos taken by me or the owners. The owners can also share their experiences with their dog on their site.
Got interested? Don't hesitate to contact us!
